I was commissioned to create a classical fountain in a beautiful walled garden in Devon.

First, I drew some designs to see what the client would like.

Then I started work on the stone... Before I began to carve the dolphins, I drilled a hole from top to bottom for the pipework for the fountain.
I cut the square block into a cylinder and also made a maquette of a dolphin to work from. Once the dolphins were carved, I spent nearly a week on their scales!
Then it was time to install the fountain. We needed a crane to reach over a 3m high wall and then 25m across the garden!
Manoevring everything into place, then filling the bowl to make sure it poured evenly.

The finished fountain!
